Programs

Mommy and Me: Weekly Program encourages children ages 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 to discover life on a farm with a parent or caregiver. Using sensory exploration, children will learn about the farm by seeing, touching, smelling, hearing, and tasting. A story, snack, and activity complete the fun of each session. $10. Wednesday 10:00 am - 10:45 am ONLY! Please call or email to let us know you plan to attend.

Barn Tales: A one hour program introducing children ages 3 - 4 years old to a different farm animal each week. Story, activity, craft, and discussion. Parents are invited to stay. Preregistration required. $10 each session Wednesday mornings from 11:15 am to 12 pm. Call or email today to register your child for the next session.

Little Sprouts: A one hour program for children ages 5-7 held on Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm. Children will gain valuable information as they learn about life on a working farm. Program activity includes care and feeding of farm animals, organic gardening, and learning about nature. $12.00 for each weekly program. Registration is required. Limited space.

Friday Farmers: A weekly program for ages 8 and older beginning at 4:30 pm and ending at 6:30 pm. Registration required. $25. per weekly session.

Explore the Farm: Our nominal fee of $5 enables visitor to a guided tour as we visit the many animals of Sparta Mountain Farm. Call to schedule your tour today! Also booking tours for schools.

Day on the Farm: Thursday, November 10th and Friday, November 11th - for children who are off from school. Camp starts at 9 am and continues until 3 pm. The cost for each day of camp is $50 and includes all activity and craft materials. Parents may sign up child for either day or both by emailing farm or calling. Children must bring their own lunch. Before and after care is available at an additional cost. Please register early as space is limited.

Home Schooler:SMF offers farm animals, gardens, and woodlands to the willing minds, hearts,and hands of home schoolers.

Saturday Fun on the Farm: A weekly 90 minute program designed for children ages 5-9. Includes story, hands on activities, crafts, and instruction. Encourages group participation and socialization. Preregistration required. $25 each session. Dates are not available at this time.

Scout Program:Why not let Sparta Mountain Farm help your Scout troop earn badges! We will provide the materials and staff time to assist your troop with the badge projects. Leaders must provide the badge or patch. Classes are two hours and are held after school from 4 to 6 p.m. or can be scheduled from 2:30 pm to 4:30 p.m. on open Saturdays. Cub Scout and Boy Scout programs can be designed to fit the advancement requirements of those participating. Preregistration required. Call or email specifics.

DAY CAMP - JULY 16 -20, 2012. Why not let the Sparta Mountain Farm Summer Day Camp staff inspire your child’s natural curiosity and desire to learn with a hands-on approach to learning traditional skills. Children will gain valuable information as they learn about life on a working farm, which includes the care, feeding, and training of farm animals such as llamas, alpacas, potbellied pigs, goats, and hens, organic gardening, and nature and animal exploration. They will improve social skills through activities such as games and team building, science fun, and crafts. This program is for children ages 5 and older. All activities are age-appropriate and will be under direct supervision of a certified staff member. (All staff members are certified teachers with special education certification as well.) Full day (9 am – 3 pm) and half-day sessions (9 am – 12 pm or 12 pm – 3 pm) Cost of this educational and entertaining program is $200.00 per week for full day and $125 per week for half-day, which includes a healthy snack(s) and all materials for crafts, etc. Children staying the full day must bring their own lunch. Tutoring is available after the daily camp program at an additional cost. Children must dress appropriately – remember this is a working farm and they will get dirty, so no new clothes please - boots or sneakers recommended – absolutely no sandals or flipflops allowed due to safety!
